Biomass Pellet Hammer Mill
The Biomass Pellet Hammer Mill is a heavy-duty crushing equipment designed for agricultural and forestry waste treatment.
Biomass Pellet Hammer Mill Introduction
The Biomass Pellet Hammer Mill is a heavy-duty crushing equipment designed for agricultural and forestry waste treatment. It uses a high-speed rotating hammer to hit and crush raw materials such as straw, wood chips, and fruit shells to form uniform particles of 3-5mm. As the front-end core equipment of the biomass energy production line, its crushing efficiency directly affects the quality of the subsequent pelletizing process.
Modern Biomass Pellet Hammer Mills adopt a modular design and can be adapted to raw materials with different moisture contents (15%-45%). It plays an irreplaceable role in biogas projects, biomass power generation and other fields.

Working principle of Biomass Pellet Hammer Mill
Feeding system
Raw materials enter the sealed crushing chamber through a belt conveyor, and the magnetic iron removal device automatically separates metal impurities
Crushing stage
The hammer group rotates at a speed of 2800–3200 r/min under the drive of the main shaft, forming a high-speed shear force field between the hammer head and the tooth plate.
Screening control
The system equips the bottom with a replaceable screen (φ3–φ8 mm aperture optional) and continuously circulates and crushes unqualified materials.
Power transmission
The 45-132kW motor is soft-started through a hydraulic coupler, reducing the impact load by 30%
The key innovation lies in the three-stage crushing chamber design
The primary coarse crushing area uses a trapezoidal hammer head, the secondary fine crushing area equips a tungsten steel composite hammer, and the final polishing area applies centrifugal force to achieve particle surface finishing.

Core features of biomass pellet hammer mill
High efficiency and energy saving
Power consumption per ton of material ≤18kW·h, 40% more energy-saving than traditional blade crusher
Intelligent control
PLC system monitors bearing temperature (<75℃) and vibration value (<4.5mm/s) in real time
Wear-resistant design
The hammer is made of 65Mn steel with tungsten carbide surfacing, with a service life of 800-1200 hours
Environmental advantages
Fully enclosed structure with pulse dust removal interface, dust concentration <20mg/m³
Easy maintenance
Hydraulic unpacking device shortens the screen replacement time to 15 minutes
The specially designed G-type rotor can realize forward and reverse switching, and the working mode can be switched without stopping when the hammer on one side is worn.
Typical application scenarios
Biomass power plant
Processing raw materials such as cotton stalks/corn stalks to meet the continuous feeding demand of 2-4t/h
Organic fertilizer production
Mix and crush livestock and poultry manure with straw to promote the penetration of fermentation agents
Manufacture of artificial boards
Prepare standardized wood fibers with a compression ratio of up to 1:8
Cellulose ethanol
Pre-treat raw materials such as eucalyptus bark to increase enzymatic hydrolysis efficiency by more than 25%
In the Southeast Asian palm shell crushing project, a certain type of Biomass Pellet Hammer Mill has been running continuously for 6,000 hours without major repairs, verifying its reliable adaptability to working conditions.
