Evolution and optimization of ring die feed pellet machine technology in feed production
Over the years, China has seen significant development in the diversity of ring-die feed pellet machine specifications for feed production. The dual-stage pelletizing process stands out from the traditional single-stage process, primarily due to the involvement of two feed pellet machine. After an initial coarse granulation, the material is repackaged and undergoes a secondary refining, which essentially strengthens the pelletizing conditioning and enhances the quality of the finished pellets.
The Principle of the Dual-Stage Pelletizing Process
This method operates on the principle of first feeding the material from the raw material bin into the feed pellet machine after conditioning. The feed pellet machine used in the first stage typically features a die aperture 50% larger than that of the second stage, or it may use an old ring-die that has been reconditioned. The material then proceeds to the second feed pellet machine for further granulation. The granulation process is fundamentally similar to conventional methods. The dual-stage process offers an intensified and regulated approach that meets the necessary conditions of pressure, temperature, and time required for the addition of liquid-soaked raw materials. Before the secondary granulation, the moisture is essentially absorbed, allowing for the production of high-quality pellet feed.
Specific Process Configurations
There are configurations such as the direct series connection and the belt-type with a curing trough. The direct series connection is more effective and has a lower investment cost. In the belt-type curing trough, conditioners are added before the second-stage granulation. The cooler is modified to have four layers for enhanced cooling. All liquid additives, except steam, are added to the primary conditioner. Subsequently, in the curing furnace, the material is kept at a constant temperature by hot dry air supplied by the cooler through a heat exchanger, ensuring thorough conditioning. Steam is added in the secondary conditioner to further heat the material while maintaining a moist surface, serving as a lubricant during the feeding process through the die.
The Benefits of a Horizontal Four-Layer Cooler
A horizontal four-layer cooler not only provides hot and humid air for the curing device but also improves cooling efficiency. This allows for the substantial addition of molasses and fats, making it particularly suitable for processing cattle feed and herbivore feed. Although the investment and operational costs of dual-stage granulation are higher, the process is easy to control. Additionally, there is a noticeable improvement in pellet quality.
Conclusion: The Advantages of the Dual-Stage Pelletizing Process
In conclusion, the dual-stage granulation process, with its enhanced control and improved pellet quality, offers significant advantages for feed production. Despite the higher investment and operational costs, the benefits in terms of pellet quality and process efficiency are significant. These advantages make it a valuable addition to modern feed pellet machine technology.
