Working Principle of Animal Feed Production Line
The core working principle of an animal feed production line is to process raw materials through physical crushing and mixing, and then go through steps such as pelletizing, cooling, screening and dust removal to generate pellet feed suitable for animal digestion and absorption. The specific principle is as follows:
Raw material crushing
The raw materials such as corn, soybean meal and wheat bran are crushed to about 2mm by a self-priming vertical crusher, making the particles fine and facilitating subsequent uniform mixing.
Uniform mixing
The crushed raw materials are fed into a 500kg capacity helical ribbon mixer and thoroughly stirred for 3 to 5 minutes to ensure the nutritional balance of each batch of feed.
Conditioning and granulation
The mixture is softened and heated in the conditioning device and then sent to the SKLH-250 ring die pellet machine. Through pressure extrusion, pellets are formed. The pellets have uniform hardness and a diameter of approximately 2-5mm, which can be adjusted according to the needs of different animals.
Cooling and screening
The temperature of newly produced particles is relatively high. The temperature is reduced by 3-5°C through the SKLN11*11 counter-flow cooler, and then the powder is removed by the ZDS60X2 vibrating screen to ensure the integrity rate of particles and production efficiency.
Dust removal and conveying
The entire production line adopts pneumatic conveying and cyclone dust removal systems to ensure that dust is controlled within a safe range while achieving efficient material conveying.
The entire production process follows a continuous production mode of “crushing – mixing – conditioning – pelletizing – cooling – screening – packaging”, maximizing the output and quality of feed.

Structural Composition of Animal Feed Production Line
Raw material receiving and conveying system
The front end of the production line is equipped with a 2m×2.5m feeding Hopper and a fence (Hopper) made of thickened 3mm carbon steel, which are used for the temporary storage of bulk materials. The materials are conveyed to the crushing or mixing stage by the TLSS25 screw conveyor (2.2kW). The conveyor adopts a seamless steel pipe main shaft and 4mm thick blades, with a sealed structure and anti-clogging devices to ensure the stability of the conveying process.
Crushing system
The core crushing equipment is a 15-200 type self-priming vertical imitation crusher (18.5kW), featuring a cast casing and an efficient air-suction structure. It is suitable for fine powder processing of raw materials such as corn and grains. Taking 2mm screen plates as an example, the crushing capacity can reach 1.5 tons per hour, providing a good particle size foundation for subsequent mixing and granulation.
Hybrid system
It is equipped with a 500kg horizontal belt mixer (7.5kW), made of 6mm carbon steel plate, with a single batch mixing capacity of 500kg and a mixing time of 3 to 5 minutes. The blade structure can ensure that the material reaches the uniformity requirement in a short time.
Granulation system
The granulation section is composed of three key units:
Granulation silo (1m³) : Equipped with a glass observation port for easy monitoring of the material level.
TZQ22×180 tempering device (3.7kW) : Made of stainless steel, it adopts variable frequency feeding and steam tempering methods, which can effectively soften materials and improve the degree of curing.
SKLH-250 pellet machine (22kW) : It adopts the main motor of German Siemens and stainless steel ring die (diameter 250mm), with a forming output of up to 1.5 tons per hour. The particle density and hardness are stable, making it suitable for the production of poultry and ruminant feed.
Cooling and screening system
Fresh particles are conveyed by the conveyor into the SKLN11×11 counter-flow cooler. This equipment can reduce the particle temperature to close to room temperature (no higher than 3-5 ℃ above the ambient temperature) within a short period of time. The discharge adopts an anti-rotation material level control mechanism to prevent particle damage.
The cooled particles enter the ZDS60X2 vibrating screen (0.75kW), which can effectively separate the powder from the finished product and improve the yield of finished products.
Dust removal and finished product conveying
The entire line is equipped with a 9-19-4.5A type cyclone dust collector (5.5kW) for dust collection during the granulation and cooling stages, and is combined with the on-site suction pipe network system to enhance the cleanliness of the workshop.
The final product can be conveyed and packed by a large-inclination-angle mobile belt conveyor (2.2kW). The high-temperature resistant belt can adapt to the short-term conveying of particles above 90℃.

- Before making feed pellet, the raw materials should be grinded. Hammer mill can grind the raw material ingredients to the required size.
- Mixing is essential operations. the appropriate mixer should be selected based on the proportion of grass.
- The feed pellet machine is the main equipment. Our feed pellet mill are equipped with stainless steel feeder and conditioner to make high quality pellet.
- The feed pellets pressed out by feed pellet mill are hot and moist, the temperature is about 80-90℃. The counter-flow cooler is adopted to cool the pellets feed.
- The feed pellets are with different sizes, and there may be some powder. The screener can be used to screen and grade the feed pellets.
- The powder and granules in the finished feed pellet products bins which needs to be packaged will be packed by automatic packing machine.
